Job summary

PDI Technologies is seeking a Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineering to lead the SRE organization for Paylo, PDI’s payments, loyalty, and fuel‑pricing products. You will manage a team of three SRE Managers/Leads and about 20 engineers, while remaining hands‑on.

The role requires strong expertise in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, GitOps with Argo CD, IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu, Jenkins, and Datadog, plus proven ability to partner with product and security teams to drive reliability goals.

Qualifications

8+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure/Platform Engineering, including 4+ years in a people‑leadership role.
Proven experience managing managers — directly led team leads/managers, ~20 total reports.
Strong hands‑on AWS and Azure — architect, troubleshoot, operate multi‑cloud infra.
Strong hands‑on Kubernetes and Helm — cluster operations, troubleshooting, chart design.
Hands‑on Argo CD/Argo Workflows for GitOps CD.
IaC experience with Terraform/OpenTofu.
Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline design and automation.
Datadog observability: APM, dashboards, alerting at scale.
Incident management, on‑call, and postmortem programs.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management; leadership presence.
US work authorization (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

Directly manage and develop 3 SRE Managers/Leads and ~20-person SRE org health and growth.
Set vision, priorities, and cadence for reliability roadmap aligned with business priorities.
Hire, coach, and develop managers and senior engineers; create career paths and succession plans.
Foster blameless, learning‑oriented culture around incidents, on‑call, and operational excellence.
Partner with engineering directors, product managers, and stakeholders to align reliability investments.
Stay technically engaged in architecture reviews and CI/CD pipelines when needed.
Define engineering standards for multi‑cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure and Kubernetes.
Own GitOps adoption with Argo CD/Argo Workflows, deployment strategy, and multi‑cluster promotion.
Own IaC strategy (Terraform/OpenTofu), module standards, state, drift detection.
Own CI/CD architecture and standards built on Jenkins, enabling blue‑green/canary releases and automated rollback.
Evaluate new infra tooling and patterns across AWS/Azure as platform evolves.
Own observability strategy with Datadog — dashboards, tracing, monitoring.
Define SLIs/SLOs and reliability KPIs; hold teams accountable.
Own incident management end‑to‑end: on‑call, escalation, postmortems, remediation.
Drive RCAs and long‑term reliability investments to reduce Sev1/Sev2.
Ensure resilience, DR, and capacity planning for payment/transaction systems.
Collaborate with Security/Compliance for PCI DSS readiness.
Track cost, capacity, and operational KPIs for leadership.
