Job summary

The TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC team seeks a capable engineer to monitor and maintain critical TikTok services in Seattle. You will understand the end-to-end stack, keep systems healthy to meet SLAs/SLOs, and work with a global team to ensure reliability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.

You will help scale systems via automation and drive improvements in reliability and velocity, while providing timely user support and postmortems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in CS or related field.
• 3+ years deploying large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong Unix/Linux internals, networking, storage and databases.
• Experience in C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, or JavaScript.
• Ability to debug, optimize, and automate tasks.
• Experience with Nginx, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kafka.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain an understanding of components powering the TikTok experience.
• Maintain services to meet SLAs and SLOs by monitoring availability and performance.
• Support site-up issues as part of a global team for reliability and scale.
• Scale systems sustainably through automation and efficiency improvements.
