Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Site Reliability Engineer II to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of critical applications across global services. You will mentor teammates, implement automation, and drive best practices for incident response and reliability engineering.

In this role, you will collaborate with product and operations teams in a fast-paced environment, design highly available architectures, and contribute to proactive monitoring and capacity planning to support Mastercard's

Qualifications

• Observability using metrics, logs and traces for incident detection and improvement.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Bash or similar for automation.
• Strong Linux/Unix systems and network administration skills.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) design, deployment and management.
• Design for high availability, fault tolerance and disaster recovery.
• CI/CD, containers and orchestration to enable reliable delivery.
• Troubleshooting and incident response with analytical methods.
• Capacity planning and performance optimization for scalable systems.
• IT service management principles for incident, problem and change management.
• Proactive reliability improvements using SRE signals.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on elements of projects within the Site Reliability Engineering area.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of high-availability systems to ensure operational stability.
• Assist in evaluating operational needs and developing technical solutions under guidance.
• Contribute to automation and scripting projects to streamline routine tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, escalating more complex problems as needed.
• Document operational procedures and share knowledge with team members.
• Participate in quality checks and reviews to ensure system stability and reliability.
• Utilize processes and tools to make minor adjustments or enhancements in the SRE area.
• May manage smaller projects as an experienced individual contributor with specialized knowledge.
