Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of critical applications within the Business Operations team. You will mentor and drive automation, design resilient systems, and partner with development to align reliability with business goals.

You will lead efforts in observability, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring, while applying DevOps practices to enable faster, reliable software delivery and operations.

Qualifications

• Observability to collect, analyze, visualize metrics/logs/traces.
• Programming and scripting to automate tasks.
• Linux/Unix systems and networks administration.
• Cloud design, deployment, management across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Designing for high availability, fault tolerance, DR.
• CI/CD, containers, orchestration in DevOps context.
• Troubleshooting complex issues to restore service.
• Forecasting capacity and optimizing performance.
• IT service management for incident/change management.
• Using SRE signals to prevent issues and improve availability.

Responsibilities

• Execute key elements of projects within Site Reliability Engineering.
• Assist in evaluating operational requirements and proposing tech solutions.
• Support automation to improve incident response workflows.
• Troubleshoot routine and complex system issues and escalate when needed.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Collaborate with development to ensure reliability aligns with business needs.
• Contribute to solution development for new products or manage small initiatives.
