Job summary

DraftKings, based in Boston, seeks a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to raise the reliability bar across our Infrastructure Engineering team. You will define how we measure reliability with SLOs and error budgets, turning complex telemetry into clear metrics that guide decisions and prioritize work.

As an individual contributor, you will influence through technical depth, mentor peers, and partner with AWS, Kubernetes, and on-prem environments to ensure end-user experiences stay resilient.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years in Site Reliability Engineering.
• Experience defining and operating SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets at scale.
• Proficient with Datadog dashboards and monitors.
• Ability to translate reliability concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead SLO development process across Infrastructure Engineering.
• Design and implement SLOs starting with critical user journeys.
• Refine reliability objectives with changing priorities.
• Link reliability targets to application experiences and end-user impact.
• Build reporting to provide visibility to leaders.
• Influence reliability practices through guidance and reviews.
• Differentiate between degradation and downtime with measurement strategies.
