Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Data & ML Platform team. You’ll build and operate a resilient, observable, and scalable data platform supporting analytics and ML workloads across the organization.

You’ll work at scale in a hybrid cloud environment, collaborating with Data Scientists, Analysts, and App Engineers to ensure secure, self-service, production-grade systems that balance speed, safety, and cost.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps for data-heavy apps.
• AI-native working style: experience with large language model tools.
• Databricks experience: workspace setup, cluster/job management, CI/CD integration.
• Deep cloud-native infrastructure knowledge on AWS (VPCs, IAM, serverless).
• Observability expertise with Datadog and platform-wide logging/monitoring.
• Proficient CI/CD tooling, especially GitHub Actions, and IaC (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Databricks and Snowflake platforms lifecycle, including automation and cost optimization.
• Design for reliability across cloud environments with failover, autoscaling, and capacity planning.
• Advance observability with monitoring, alerting, and logging across the platform.
• Drive CI/CD for data pipelines and ML workloads using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Enable cross-platform data movement across Snowflake, S3, Delta Lake, and Kafka.
• Champion event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SNS/SQS, and Lambda.
• Collaborate across analytics, data science, and product teams to meet platform needs.
• Contribute to strategy on data platform architecture and ML enablement.
