Job summary

Datavant seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Data & ML Platform team. You will own the lifecycle of Databricks and Snowflake platforms, improve reliability, and drive cost optimization across a hybrid cloud, scaling data workloads and ML pipelines.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers, building secure, self-service, production-grade platforms with strong observability and CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions and Terraform.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps roles supporting data-intensive apps.
• AI-native working style with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot.
• Hands-on Databricks experience incl. workspace setup, cluster/job mgmt, CI/CD integration.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native infrastructure on AWS or equivalent.
• Proven observability expertise with Datadog and platform-wide logging/monitoring.
• Strong CI/CD tooling, esp. GitHub Actions, Terraform, and data deployments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Databricks and Snowflake platforms lifecycle, including automation, governance, and cost optimization.
• Design for reliability across cloud environments with failover, autoscaling, and capacity planning.
• Advance observability with monitoring, alerting, and logging infrastructure.
• Drive CI/CD for data pipelines, ML workflows and infra components using GitHub Actions, Terraform, and related IaC tooling.
• Enable data flow across platforms with inter- and intra-cloud movement (Snowflake, S3, Delta Lake, Kafka).
• Champion event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SNS/SQS, and Lambda for scalable data systems.
• Collaborate across teams as SRE and platform partner to meet analytics, data science and product needs.
• Contribute to strategy on data platform architecture, ML enablement, and data product direction.
