Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join the Enterprise technology, engineering services and platform team. You will independently solve complex problems with simple and scalable solutions using code and cloud infrastructure.

You will deploy, monitor, and optimize applications and infrastructure, contribute to end-to-end operations, availability, reliability, and scalability, and lead SRE best practices for the team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Proficient in site reliability culture and implementing SRE within an application or platform.
• Proficient in Python, Java/Spring Boot, and shell scripting.
• Experience in observability with Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, or Terraform; configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Ansible.
• Experience managing enterprise Splunk/ELK deployments for observability.
• Familiarity with ECS, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and Linux performance tuning.
• Strong cross-team collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience with Kafka and incident/change management.
• Familiarity with Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban).

Responsibilities

• Guides and assists peers in building designs and gaining consensus.
• Collaborates to design and implement deployment approaches using CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborates to design, develop, test, and implement availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Implements infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for applications.
• Resolves complex problems with stakeholders.
• Monitors service level indicators and uses SLAs to preempt issues.
• Leads adoption of SRE best practices within the team.
• Production 24x7 support for business-critical applications – on-call rotation.
