Job summary

Green Dot Corporation is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in a structured hybrid role with three days in the office and remote flexibility. The position is based in West Los Angeles, CA, with occasional travel for team meetings.

You will drive automated deployment, robust monitoring, and reliable performance across environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in CS/engineering.
• 5+ years in release engineering or site reliability engineering with complex deployments.
• Strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and deployment/monitoring services.
• Proficient in automated deployment and monitoring tools.
• Familiar with observability (logging/metrics/alerting).
• Knowledge of best practices and trends in release/reliability engineering.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with messaging/event queues for efficient processing.
• DB performance monitoring for SQL and NoSQL systems.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Groovy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automated deployment strategies across environments.
• Design and govern monitoring infrastructure for reliability and performance.
• Collaborate to define release and reliability processes aligned with best practices.
• Work with development/ops/QA to streamline software delivery lifecycle.
• Stay updated on trends in release/reliability engineering and apply improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to track KPIs and SLIs for release reliability.
