Job summary

CGS Federal in the Washington, DC area is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server, including replication, backups, and performance tuning. The role supports hybrid work arrangements with remote options and Arlington, VA offices.

Responsibilities include migrating SQL Server databases (2012 to 2016), implementing SSIS/SSRS/SSAS, and ensuring security and availability.

Qualifications

5+ years of SQL Server DB Admin experience.
Experience with replication, backups, and disaster recovery.
Strong knowledge of SSRS/SSIS/SSAS and data warehousing concepts.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience migrating databases (e.g., SQL Server 2012 to 2016).
Ability to document changes and work in team environments.

Responsibilities

Administer SQL Server including replication, backups, capacity planning, and SSRS/SSAS/SSIS.
Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
Provide systems administration support for hardware/software deployments and configurations.
Recommend and implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
Implement and support Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Web Services).
Support virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V; create/configure VMs.
Perform routine and full backups according to policies with daily increments and weekly full backups.
Monitor databases, space management, and provide extended support when required.
