Job summary

AnaVation is seeking a Database Administrator to manage and optimize customer database environments. The role emphasizes SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and robust backup/restore strategies, complemented by system administration on Windows Server.

You will ensure reliability, security, and scalability across platforms while partnering with development and infrastructure teams. On-site in Washington DC with no remote option, and applicants must hold a Top-Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Experience with SQL Server administration and tuning.
• Experience implementing data policies, procedures, standards.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and DR planning.
• Top Secret clearance required and on-site work in DC.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases.
• Monitor performance, analyze wait stats, tune queries, and manage indexes.
• Administer and test databases, applying knowledge of DBMS.
• Design and manage backup, recovery, and high availability (AGs, log shipping).
• Collaborate with development and infra teams for releases and schema changes.
