Job summary

Alpha Omega Integration is seeking a Mid-Level SQL Database Administrator (DBA) in Virginia for a hybrid role. You will install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments, optimize queries, implement HA/DR, and ensure security and data integrity for critical applications.

Requirements include 3–5 years of SQL Server experience, knowledge of backup/recovery, monitoring tools, and strong analytical communication skills. USDA Public Trust clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, T-SQL, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with backup and recovery strategies, database maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with HA/DR technologies such as Always On, clustering, or replication.
• Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Understanding of database security and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
• Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Manage database security, including user access and permissions.
• Troubleshoot outages and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement high availability and replication solutions.
• Develop and maintain maintenance plans, jobs, and monitoring processes.
• Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and database structures.
• Support upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Monitor storage capacity and plan for growth.
• Ensure data integrity and availability across systems.
