Job summary

BHG Financial is seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to lead mission‑critical SQL Server environments, optimize T‑SQL development, and ensure security and resilience. The role requires delivering high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning across on‑premises and cloud platforms.

You will collaborate with development and infrastructure teams, manage complex data workflows, and support releases with minimal downtime.

Qualifications

Ten+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience.
Senior‑level T‑SQL skills: query optimization, indexing strategies, complex joins.
Deep understanding of SQL Server internals (locking, blocking, tempdb, memory, I/O).
Strong experience with performance tuning and monitoring.
Experience with SQL Server 2016+ versions.
Backups/restore, HA/DR, capacity planning knowledge.
Experience supporting large, high‑transaction databases.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and administer SQL Server environments (on‑premises and cloud).
Develop, optimize, and maintain complex T‑SQL code: stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, indexes.
Perform advanced query tuning and execution plan analysis to improve performance.
Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using native/third‑party tools.
Implement HA/DR solutions (Always On) and manage Availability Groups.
Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery testing.
Ensure database security through RBAC, encryption, auditing and compliance.
