Job summary

Main Sail LLC is seeking a SQL Server DBA to install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server across production, staging, and development environments. You will monitor health, tune performance, and resolve blocking issues while designing robust backup and disaster recovery strategies for both on-premises and Azure deployments.

You will collaborate with IT development and security teams to enforce RBAC, encryption, and data protection standards, and provide Tier III support including code

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience managing enterprise-level SQL Server environments (on‑prem/ Azure).
• Experience with HA/DR strategies (Always On, Log Shipping, Failover Clusters).
• Knowledge of RBAC, encryption at rest/in transit, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server across environments.
• Monitor system health, optimize performance, and resolve blocking/deadlock issues.
• Design, test, and implement backup/recovery policies and HA/DR solutions.
• Collaborate with IT staff to design DBMS architecture and data exchange standards.
• Develop documentation for procedures, security, migrations, and best practices.
• Provide Tier III support and code reviews for database code and stored procedures.
