Job summary

Kforce Inc. is seeking an experienced Database Administrator in West Springfield, MA to manage, support, and optimize enterprise SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

You will ensure availability, performance, security, and recoverability while partnering with infrastructure and analytics teams to support critical business applications. The role requires strong SQL Server expertise, automation skills with PowerShell and SQL Agent, and a proactive approach to migrations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or related field.
• Experience supporting enterprise DB environments.
• Experience with both on-premises and cloud DB platforms.
• Strong SQL Server expertise and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Ensure database availability, reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Monitor database health, uptime, replication, and system performance.
• Design, implement, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Manage database security, access controls, permissions, and compliance requirements.
• Perform query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning activities.
• Support application teams with database design, schema changes, deployments, and production readiness.
• Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, and access issues.
• Develop automation for monitoring, maintenance, alerting, and operational efficiencies.
• Lead or contribute to database migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
• Maintain database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
