Job summary

Vertafore is seeking a Sr. Database Administrator to design, administer, and support enterprise SQL Server databases across on‑premises and AWS environments.

You will optimize performance, ensure high availability, and drive automation for provisioning, monitoring, and backup/recovery. You will collaborate with application teams, SRE, Cloud Operations, vendors, and other technology teams, participate in an on‑call rotation, and contribute to resilient database operations in a fast‑ paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field.
• 6+ years of expert knowledge and experience in SQL Server administration, performance optimization, and T-SQL development.
• 3+ years of AWS cloud experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, administer, and support enterprise SQL Server databases across on-premises and AWS environments.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, optimize performance, and ensure high availability and DR readiness.
• Develop and enhance database automation, provisioning, monitoring, and backup/recovery processes.
• Collaborate with application teams, SRE, Cloud Operations, vendors, and other tech groups.
