Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Senior Database Administrator II to join our Information Technology team in a full-time capacity. The role focuses on administering Microsoft SQL Server, including replication, backup/restore, and performance tuning, while migrating older databases and supporting virtualization environments such as VMware and Hyper-V.

Qualifications

• Administering Microsoft SQL Server including Replication, Backup/Restore procedures, Capacity Planning, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services.
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2016.
• Provide systems administration support for hardware and software installations and configurations.

Responsibilities

• Recommending and implementing SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
• Implement, deploy, and support Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio Framework, VB.NET, ASP.NET and Web Services.
• Support virtualization technologies like VMware and Microsoft Hyper‑V; create and configure virtual machines.
• Perform backups of web, application, and database servers per policies; execute daily incremental and weekly full backups.
• Monitor databases, manage space, and provide extended hours of database system support when required.
