Contact Government Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server, including replication, backups, reporting, and performance tuning. The role involves database migrations, systems administration for new hardware and software, and implementing Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio, VB.NET, and ASP.NET within a government-focused environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience, strong virtualization skills

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years relevant experience related directly to SQL Server Database Administration.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
Experience with source control, bug tracking, SDLC, and integration of Relational Databases.
Ability to document, explain, and present any task related to decisions and processes.

Responsibilities

Administer Microsoft SQL Server including replication, backups, capacity planning, and reporting services.
Migrate databases across SQL Server versions (e.g., 2012 to 2016).
Provide systems administration support for new hardware and software deployments.
Implement, deploy, and support Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET and Web Services.
Support virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V and manage virtual machines.
Perform backups of web, application, and database servers per policies; include daily incremental and weekly full backups.
Monitor databases, manage space, and provide extended support as needed.
