Job summary

Contact Government Services seeks a Senior Database Administrator to manage all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server, including replication, backups, and performance tuning. The role involves migrations from SQL Server 2012 to 2016, and supporting virtualization environments like VMware and Hyper-V.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years direct SQL Server DB Administration experience.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• Experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization.
• Knowledge of source/control, bug tracking, SDLC, and relational DB integration.
• Ability to document, explain, and present decisions and processes.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server including Replication, Backups,Capacity planning, SSRS/SSAS/SSIS.
• Migrate databases across SQL Server versions (e.g., 2012 to 2016).
• Provide systems administration support for hardware and software.
• Recommend and implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning solutions.
• Implement and support Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET).
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and create/configure VMs.
• Back up web, application, and database servers per MPA policies (daily/weekly).
• Monitor databases, manage space, and provide extended hours as needed.
