Job summary

Contact Government Services is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server. You will handle replication, backups, capacity planning, and BI services while supporting VMware and Hyper-V environments.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of SQL Server experience, familiarity with tooling like SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, and the ability to work both independently and in teams on large and small projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years direct SQL Server DBA experience.
• Experience migrating databases SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
• Proficient in backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiar with SQL performance tuning and monitoring.
• Knowledge of SSIS/SSAS/SSRS and related BI tools.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Understanding of SDLC and change control processes.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server databases including replication, backup/restore, and capacity planning.
• Migrate databases between SQL Server versions (2012→2016).
• Provide system administration support for hardware and software.
• Tune SQL performance and implement monitoring solutions.
• Implement and support Microsoft technologies (ASP.NET, VB.NET, Visual Studio).
• Support virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and VM provisioning.
• Perform routine backups per policy and manage database space and monitoring.
