Job summary

San Antonio West Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to assess residents, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with physicians, families, and staff. The role includes supervising CFY or students and delivering in-services.

You will document per regulations, educate residents and caregivers, and contribute to quality improvement while maintaining infection control and safe practice. Licensure in good standing required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required; Masters/Doctorate preferred.
• Proficient in computer skills and data entry in health IT systems.
• Ability to read technical procedures and engage with policy manuals.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret and follow instructions and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and independence.
• Supervise CFY and students in resident care and related activities.
• Communicate progress, goals, and discharge plans with physicians, nursing staff, and families.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation compliant with facility and payer requirements.
• Provide staff in-services and participate in quality assurance and rehab program development.
