Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wesley Chapel is seeking a Senior Speech Language Pathologist to lead the speech pathology team in a hospital setting. You will guide patients through speech and communication challenges, provide compassionate care, and mentor team members in a collaborative inpatient rehabilitation environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, program development, and supervising therapy staff while delivering evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Must hold current state license for Speech Therapy.
• CCC (ASHA) certification required.
• BLS/CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in speech therapy or in management; higher degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of speech language pathology experience.
• Active on Therapy Clinical Ladder or related specialty certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients and build therapeutic relationships.
• Mentor and train colleagues and other departments as needed.
• Supervise speech therapy assistants and technicians.
• Lead patient-focused rehabilitation through communication and swallowing therapies.
• Support education programs and student initiatives in the department.
