Job summary
ECS Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Specification Writer III for its Pacific Building Science + Infrastructure team in Walnut Creek, CA. You will collaborate with architects, engineers and project teams to research materials, develop detailed specifications and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
The role demands leadership in product research, writing and editing specifications, and coordinating with consultants and disciplines.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of architectural and specification writing experience.
- CCS/LEED/CSI credentials are a plus.
- CDT certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams in researching product materials and manufacturers for architectural projects.
- Support management of specification projects and resolve technical/administrative issues.
- Educate design teams on product selection and design considerations.
- Write and edit specifications; coordinate with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Prepare construction specifications and review Division 01 General Requirements.
- Coordinate consultant specs to conform to firm standards and project manuals.
- Review submittals and substitution requests for compliance.
- Stay current on building technologies and industry trends.
