Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Specification Writer III to join the Pacific Building Science + Infrastructure team in Roseville, CA. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to research materials, develop detailed specifications, and ensure alignment with project requirements, standards, and codes.

The role emphasizes leadership in specification development, coordination with consultants, and staying current on building technology and code changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Science or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of architectural and specification writing experience; includes at least 6 years in Architectural or Commercial Interiors; 3 years in higher responsibility for writing and developing AIA MasterFormat specifications.
• CSI membership; CDT certification a plus; CCS/LEED AP or licensed Architect/Engineer a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams in researching product materials and manufacturers for architectural projects.
• Prepare and coordinate with internal teams on specification development and project manuals.
• Review drawings and write specifications, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Plan and prepare construction specifications for project phases and milestones.
• Coordinate consultant specifications with firm standards and project manuals.
