Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Senior Special Track Inspector to perform technical inspections of special track work for MTA/NYCT projects. The role requires experience with railroad components, dimensional inspection, and quality assurance, plus the ability to read drawings and follow specifications.

Minimum five years experience in track inspections or QA, and knowledge of AWS/ASNT inspection techniques, AREMA, ASTM, ASME standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in special track inspections or related QA.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specs.
• Working knowledge of AWS and ASNT inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous castings and forgings where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect special track work to Authority drawings and specs.
• Verify precise dimensions, clearances, and quality requirements.
• Inspect track materials (nuts, bolts, washers, fasteners, shims, clips, spikes).
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
• Identify and document nonconforming materials.
• Prepare inspection reports and support material acceptance decisions.
