Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Special Track Inspector to perform technical inspections of special track work for MTA/NYCT projects. You will verify dimensions, review drawings, and ensure compliance with AREMA, ASTM, and AWS standards.

The role requires five years of experience in track inspection, reading engineering specs, and documenting nonconformities with a focus on quality assurance and precise reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in special track inspections, quality assurance, or related railroad/transit inspection.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of AWS and ASNT inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous castings and forgings where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect special track work manufactured to Authority drawings and specifications.
• Verify dimensions, clearances and quality requirements.
• Inspect track materials including nuts, bolts, washers, steel fastener plates, shims, clips, screw spikes, and related components.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and inspection documentation.
• Identify and document nonconforming materials.
• Prepare inspection reports and support material acceptance decisions.
