Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Special Track Inspector to perform technical inspections of special track work and related materials for MTA/NYCT projects. The role requires experience with railroad components, dimensional inspections, quality assurance, and industry standards.

The position will inspect materials for compliance with authority drawings and specifications, document nonconforming items, and prepare inspection reports to support material acceptance decisions.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in special track inspections or related fields.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of AWS and ASNT inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous castings and forgings, when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect special track work manufactured to Authority drawings and specifications.
• Verify precise dimensions, clearances, and quality requirements.
• Inspect track materials, including nuts, bolts, washers, steel fastener plates, shims, clips, screw spikes, and related components.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
• Identify and document nonconforming materials.
• Prepare inspection reports and support material acceptance decisions.
