Job summary

NYC Department of Social Services seeks a Principal Administrative Associate III to support the Deputy Commissioner by coordinating large-scale training initiatives and managing complex reports. The role requires strong writing, analytical, and policy knowledge with experience in training data analysis.

You will collaborate with multiple city units, ensure compliance, and help shape training curricula while handling inquiries from DSS/HRA/DHS staff.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with two years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including supervisory experience.
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits with three years of clerical/administrative experience, including one year supervisory experience.
  • A four-year high school diploma with four years of clerical/administrative experience, including one year supervisory experience.
  • Equivalency to any of the above with one year of supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead large-scale DSS/HRA/DHS project initiatives and workgroups with senior OPPT staff.
  • Create and manage reports to track project outcomes and monitor compliance.
  • Review training requests and assign to training manager for completion.
  • Research and compile training data from ABSORB LMS to prepare comprehensive training reports.
  • Liaise with other agency units and city entities to discuss training needs and best practices.
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in social services policies to respond to inquiries via telephone and email.
  • Meet with the Deputy Commissioner to discuss outcomes and next steps.
  • Prepare and conduct management surveys and work measurement analyses and evaluation of organizational structures.
  • Analyze written and statistical reports on training effectiveness and provide recommendations to the Deputy Commissioner.
  • Monitor new Federal, State, and local policy changes affecting training curricula.
