Job summary

UT MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Research Assistant to test new commercial technologies for single‑cell and spatial genomics, roll out assays as core services, and train staff. You’ll perform spatial genomic experiments, manage samples and data, and contribute to protocol development.

The role emphasizes wet‑lab work, assay benchmarking, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams, with opportunities for professional growth and core facility leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in natural sciences or related field required.
• Three years of scientific or experimental research experience (or one year with a preferred degree).
• Experience in a molecular biology lab with tissue processing, imaging, or NGS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform spatial genomics experiments including Visium HD, Xenium, and related assays.
• Provide core lab services and conduct PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA isolation and QC.
• Prepare libraries for NGS workflows and tissue sections for spatial assays.
• Interface with data analysis teams on protocols, challenges, and QC.
• Train personnel and maintain benchmarking records for assays and equipment.
