Job summary

Blue Origin's In-Space Systems unit is hiring a Software Systems Engineer to join the Spacecraft Systems Engineering team. You will integrate flight software with spacecraft bus software, shape requirements, and ensure alignment with ground operations and test engineering.

You will define system-level software requirements, coordinate architecture strategy, and oversee verification activities across the software life cycle. Mentoring for junior engineers is expected as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in a relevant technical field.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering fundamentals and lifecycle phases.
• Experience with spacecraft flight software design/architecture (e.g. cFS, F Prime).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define system-level software requirements and allocations for spacecraft.
• Coordinate software architecture strategy and implementation approach.
• Create guidelines for software development, verification, and testing strategies.
• Oversee software management plans and ICDs.
• Conduct software lifecycle reviews and acceptance testing.
