Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, implement, and verify software for mission-critical spaceflight systems. The role is hardware-heavy, requiring reading hardware datasheets, understanding registers, and hands-on lab debugging.

You will collaborate with avionics hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to bring up BSPs, boards, and modules, while optimizing performance and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field required.
• 7+ years of embedded software experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop BSP software and drivers for new hardware.
• Bare-metal or OS-level init and embedded data processing.
• Debug avionics hardware with logic analyzers, scopes, and JTAG.
• Participate in HW/SW partitioning and design reviews.
• Benchmark hardware performance and utilize HW accelerators.
• Develop interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, TCP/IP, UDP, GMSL, SpaceWire, CameraLink, Aurora, AXI, AMBA).
• Scripting, Linux development, and hands-on with development kits.
