Job summary

Aegis Aerospace, Inc. seeks a Senior Spacecraft Mechanisms Engineer to support NASA's MBT at Kennedy Space Center.

You will evaluate mechanical systems, deployment mechanisms, latches, and interfaces across design, analysis, testing, and flight hardware to ensure mission readiness. The role requires a broad background in spacecraft mechanisms, CAD modeling (Siemens NX/SolidWorks), and independent technical assessment, with travel to program locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Ten (10) or more years of relevant mechanical or aerospace engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience reviewing, manipulating, modifying, or developing mechanical models using Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent technical insight and assessment of spacecraft mechanical systems, mechanisms, and flight hardware.
• Evaluate mechanical designs, analyses, verification approaches, test programs, and interfaces to identify risks and support design-maturity assessments.
• Perform CAD-based assessments, fit checks, interface evaluations, and tolerance considerations for flight hardware.
