Job summary

Cimarron Software Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Spacecraft Mechanisms to lead hardware development from concept to flight, including deployables, actuators, landing legs, latches, hinges, and release systems for Blue Ghost Lunar Lander and Elytra vehicles.

5+ years in aerospace/mechanical engineering are required; Siemens NX, Nastran/ANSYS/FEMAP experience preferred. On-site role in Cedar Park, TX with strong cross-team leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration.
• 5 or more years of experience in aerospace/mechanical engineering.
• Experience sizing and designing motors for spacecraft applications.
• Familiar with instrumentation and functional test setups for mechanisms.
• Strong 3-D CAD design skills using Siemens NX.
• Experience with FEA/FEM tools (Nastran/ANSYS/FEMAP).
• Knowledge of composite and metallic structures; GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Bachelors in aerospace or mechanical engineering; 5+ years in aerospace/mechanical field.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire hardware lifecycle for moving mechanical assemblies from concept to flight.
• Develop, scrub, and maintain mechanism requirements.
• Lead design reviews with suppliers/customers (NASA, USA Space Force) and ensure launches.
• Create CAD models, drawings, specifications and supporting docs.
• Perform first-order analysis, strength sizing, and mechanism margin calculations.
