Job summary
Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for our Flight Software team. You will determine how the spacecraft behaves in orbit and build reliable software from requirements through testing and flight operations.
Responsibilities include writing bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux based embedded code in C++, owning all software development phases, and ensuring system quality with thorough V&V.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field with safety-critical software experience.
- 5+ years developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
- Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
- Experience with C++ language concepts and modern C++.
Responsibilities
- Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
- Own all aspects of software development from design to integration and testing.
- Scope projects with requirements capture and design trades.
- Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software for processors in C++.
- Build highly reliable and available software systems.
- Ensure system quality via software test, verification, and validation (V&V).
