Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team to determine spacecraft behavior and build reliable software from requirements through flight support. You will own all stages of development, from design to testing and integration.

The role requires a bachelor's in a STEM field and 5+ years in safety-critical spacecraft software, with C++, RTOS, and Linux experience; on-site in El Segundo, CA, with stock options and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent technical experience.
• 5+ years of safety-critical spacecraft software development experience.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficiency in C++ with solid language fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft hardware across missions.
• Own all software development phases: design, testing, integration.
• Perform requirements capture and initial design trades for open problems.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based embedded software in C++.
• Build highly reliable software systems with rigorous V&V.
• Ensure quality and performance through thorough testing and validation.
