Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced structural loads engineer to support the development and operations of New Glenn. You will generate, validate, and communicate structural loads analyses, develop FE models, and reduce them for efficient use.

Proficiency in NASTRAN, MATLAB, and physics-based methods is required. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with static and dynamic analyses, data processing, and clear technical writing.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Passion for aerospace vehicle structural loads and related analysis.
• Finite Element Modeling experience.
• NASTRAN and MATLAB proficiency.
• Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems with physics-based methods.
• Ability to present data for engineering applications.
• U.S. citizen/national or eligible for appropriate U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Launch vehicle Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) development and execution with cross-discipline collaboration.
• Document and communicate CLA results for internal and external customers.
• Develop/refine Finite Element Models; validate and correlate to tests.
• Reduce FE Models using Component Modal Synthesis methods (Craig-Bampton).
• Develop mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
• Manage large datasets and post-process data for engineering applications.
• Tackle additional loads tasks as required.
