Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC seeks a Systems Engineer L4 to lead and support an engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of advanced computer systems, software, and networks for space systems.

The ideal candidate will bring deep systems engineering expertise with program management experience to support planning, risk Management, and execution, while communicating effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Requires active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS, IT, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• DoD Acquisition or Systems Engineering certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering across design, development, integration, and testing of space systems.
• Define requirements, develop system specifications, and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
• Develop and execute comprehensive system and test plans with user community.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and programmatic risks, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance objectives are achieved.
• Provide technical and analytical expertise to optimize system performance and reduce life-cycle costs.
• Support program management activities, including cost, schedule, and risk tracking, project planning, and execution oversight.
• Prepare and deliver professional reports, proposals, and executive-level briefings to senior leadership and mission partners.
• Drive cross-domain integration spanning air, space, and cyberspace, supporting multi-agency collaboration.
• Serve as a SME and focal point for integration of special capabilities and new technologies.
• Contribute to R&D by evaluating technologies at varying readiness levels for inclusion in current and future programs.
