Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and verify flight-qualified power subsystems for the TeraWave satellite payloads. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure robustness, mass efficiency, and reliability in harsh space environments.

The role emphasizes design verification, thermal and EMI analyses, and close collaboration with mechanical, thermal, and RF engineers to deliver flight hardware that meets NASA and industry standards.

Competenze

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field required.
• 7+ years of professional experience in electrical power electronics design.
• Experience designing isolated DC-DC converters at 1 kW / 120 VDC or higher.
• Experience designing sub-1V POL converters for high‑performance digital systems.
• Direct space hardware experience preferred and familiarity with space standards.
• Ability to perform WCA, derating, stability, power dissipation, transient, reliability, DFMEA, DFT/DFM, and EMI analyses.

Mansioni

• Lead design, development, and qualification of isolated DC-DC power systems up to 1 kW at 120 VDC.
• Design and characterize sub-1V POL converters for high‑end digital payloads and FPGAs.
• Develop power system architectures including filtering, sequencing, fault protection, and distribution.
• Perform design verification analyses (WCA, derating, stability, etc.) and document results.
• Support PCB layout reviews for power integrity and thermal management.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, systems, RF and optics teams to integrate power hardware into satellites.
• Lead design reviews and present results to peers and external stakeholders.
