Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to own the Dual Voltage Distribution Box (DVDB) design for the spacecraft power bus. You will drive design from requirements through production, balancing space-grade reliability with manufacturability for thousands of units per year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field, with 7+ years hardware experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead circuit design for the Dual Voltage Distribution Box (DVDB) including SSPCs, relay switching, overcurrent protection, and fault isolation across dual voltage domains.
  • Define load switch sequencing, priority shedding, and fault response with Fault Management and C&DH teams.
  • Own DVDB telemetry architecture and health monitoring interfaces.
  • Derive DVDB hardware requirements, ICDs, and design specs with systems engineering.
  • Drive FMEA/FMECA activities and elimination of single-point failures.
  • Optimize design for high-rate manufacturing, DFM/DFT, and cost targets.
  • Define and transition ATE from development to production with verification and fault coverage.
  • Develop hardware qualification plans per MIL-STD-1540, SMC-S-016, or equivalent, and investigate anomalies.
  • Serve as technical authority during vehicle integration and flight tests.
  • Maintain complete DVDB design package in PLM system.
