Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Electrical Power Engineer to architect, design, analyze, and verify power subsystems for satellite payloads on the TeraWave system. You will collaborate with avionics, mechanical, thermal, RF teams to deliver flight-qualified hardware.

The role focuses on isolated DC-DC power conversion, high-current POLs, and comprehensive verification per NASA/space standards, reporting to the TeraWave Avionics Senior Manager.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in electrical power electronics design.
• Experience designing isolated DC-DC power converters at 1 kW / 120 VDC or higher.
• Experience designing sub-1V point-of-load converters for high-performance digital systems.
• Direct experience with satellite/space hardware power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and qualification of isolated DC-DC power conversion systems up to 1 kW at 120 VDC.
• Design and characterize sub-1V high-current POL converters with tight regulation.
• Develop power system architectures including filtering, sequencing, and fault protection for satellite applications.
• Perform design verification analyses (WCA, derating, stability, thermal, transient, DFMEA, EMI/EMC).
• Support hardware bring-up, qualification, and full production test procedures.
• Lead design reviews and communicate results to peers and stakeholders.
