Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a highly skilled platform software engineer to own the Board Support Package and fabric bring-up for accelerator compute payloads. You will work on the lowest software layers, from bootloader to kernel and device drivers, ensuring reliable, high-performance platform software for space.

This role requires deep hands-on expertise in embedded Linux BSP and hardware bring-up in a remote, hands-off environment.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/CE or related field.
• 6+ years of embedded Linux BSP or low-level platform software development.
• Hands-on experience with accelerator hardware bring-up (GPUs/TPUs).
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with CUDA and ROCm, NCCL/RCCL.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the BSP for accelerator compute modules (bootloader, Linux kernel bring-up, drivers, HAL).
• Lead bring-up and validation of high-speed compute fabric and GPU/GPU communications.
• Implement in-flight health monitoring for compute payloads (temperatures, ECC, power, interconnect).
• Design automated recovery for radiation-induced soft errors and system resilience.
• Define API boundaries between platform software and higher-level services (inference runtime, orchestration).
