Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff in Modeling & Simulation Engineering to lead enterprise-level simulations of space missions and provide expert analysis for cross-mission programs. The role requires strong Python and C++ skills, deep knowledge of space operations, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

This is a full-time, 100% onsite position with multiple U.S. locations and a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research, or closely related technical field from an accredited school.
• 5+ years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments.
• Technical understanding of space operations, red vs blue simulations, military utility and capability drawdown, kill chain effectiveness, enterprise architecture resiliency, and/or command and control (C2).
• Demonstrated strength in architecture-level simulations and mission performance assessments of space-based systems.
• Demonstrated high level of creativity, initiative, and self-motivation.
• Ability to work on dynamic assignments and adapt to changing customer expectations.
• Current Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with cross-mission focused program offices and customers to translate their program needs into modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks.
• Employ targeted software development to implement new modeling capability based on customer and analyst needs.
• Prepare, execute, and analyze enterprise-level simulations of kill chains and interconnected, mission relevant systems.
• Independently lead and contribute to technical analysis projects to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent team deliveries.
• Exercise your expertise in understanding, modeling, and analyzing enterprise-level integrated missions.
• Develop and present briefings and reports for program offices and customers.
• Mentor junior staff members on technical and professional development subjects and contribute to a learning environment where it is encouraged to share ideas and feedback.
