Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field; M.S. preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanism design and space flight hardware.
• Expertise in bearing design, geartrain analysis, seal systems and lubrication.
• Proficiency with Creo and Windchill; ASME Y14.5 GD&T experience.
• Experience with end-to-end flight hardware procurements, vendors, budgets and schedules.
• Strong ability to lead cross-functional reviews and test planning.

Responsibilities

• Serve as end-to-end Product Design Lead for mechanisms on IM Nova-landers and payloads.
• Lead bearing design/analysis, geartrain development, and actuator integration.
• Develop performance specs for actuators; oversee procurement and testing.
• Drive subsystem design reviews, requirements, and verification planning.
• Maintain IMS and BOM; manage hardware procurement activity.
• Interface with structures, thermal, avionics, and software teams for integration.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management.
• Perform analyses including bearing/gear calculations, torque margins, lubrication life.
• Generate CAD drawings; conduct tolerance analysis and optimization studies.
• Develop and execute environmental tests and test plans.
