Job summary

Intuitive Machines in Glen Burnie, MD seeks a Mechanisms Engineer to design, develop, manufacture and test space flight and ground support mechanisms such as motor-driven actuators, payload deployers, antenna deployment and articulation devices, gimbal systems, launch hold-down systems, optical adjustment mechanisms, robotic manipulators and tools, and fluid couplings for cryogenic and rocket propellant systems.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanisms engineering.
• Expertise in bearing design, geartrains, seals and lubrication.
• Proficiency with Creo and Windchill; GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Serve as end-to-end Product Design Lead for mechanisms.
• Lead bearing design/analysis, geartrain development, actuator integration.
• Develop performance specs for actuators and oversee testing.
• Lead subsystem reviews, requirements definition, and verification planning.
• Develop and maintain mechanism IMS and BOM; interface with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and represent mechanisms engineering at reviews.
