CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer to apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to develop and improve mechanical systems, structures, mechanisms, and hardware supporting complex products for space and airborne platforms.

You will lead analyses, verification, and testing, while guiding mechanical engineering practices across programs and mentoring engineers to improve performance, manufacturability, reliability, and quality.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree with 12–15 years of related experience or advanced degrees with fewer years in mechanical engineering, structural analysis, or CAD
• Substantial knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, machine design, and product development methodologies
• Extensive experience designing mechanical components, assemblies, structures, mechanisms across programs
• Understanding of engineering analysis, structural analysis, thermal analysis, GD&T, manufacturing processes, system integration
• Develops innovative solutions for highly complex mechanical challenges and guides technical decisions

Responsabilidades

• Develop and optimize mechanical systems, structures, mechanisms, and assemblies across programs
• Evaluate structural performance, thermal behavior, tolerances, manufacturability, and interfaces
• Lead complex analyses, evaluations, thermal assessments, trade studies, and reviews
• Lead mechanical verification, qualification, validation, and testing activities
• Evaluate data, test results, manufacturing information, and product performance to improve reliability
• Guide root cause investigations, changes, and design improvements
• Serve as a primary technical resource across significant engineering initiatives
• Provide guidance through design reviews, investigations, and supplier evaluations
• Mentor engineers and promote continuous improvement in mechanical practices
• Advance engineering methodologies and design practices across programs
• Identify opportunities for improvement in methods and technologies
• Lead initiatives to enhance product performance, manufacturability, and quality
