Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer Professional to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). The role focuses on administering RIU software, configuring serial data circuits, and coordinating with GPS/time/NTП systems while maintaining system security and ATO readiness.

The candidate will work on diverse hardware with Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper and other vendors, require a Secret clearance, and may involve non-standard hours to meet mission needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a STEM field required.
• 3+ years in communication systems and network engineering.
• Experience with voice/data/analog and digital video systems configuration, operation, and maintenance.
• Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Government Clearance (Citizenship required).
• Experience with IPv6 solutions and circuit over packet technologies.

Responsibilities

• Administer Range Interface Units (RIUs) software and configurations.
• Recommend changes to improve systems and determine hardware/software requirements.
• Configure and test serial data circuits (T1, DS1, DS3, RS232, RS530, 422).
• Support GPS receivers, Time Generators and NTP servers.
• Assist Network Administrators with IPv6 protocols, data, and telemetry transports.
• Plan and implement system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) through continuous monitoring.
• Assist leadership in estimating, reporting and planning network tasks.
• Participate in Risk Management Boards and identify network risks.
