Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer Senior to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). The role focuses on designing, developing, and troubleshooting software for new and existing systems with strong collaboration across teams.

The position requires 8+ years in software engineering, experience with Windows/Linux, and proficiency in Python/JavaScript. Security+ certification or ability to obtain it within six months is expected; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field or equivalent education/experience.
8+ years of software engineering experience.
Experience with Windows and Linux (RedHat and GNU).
Experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript).
Experience with design and coding languages.
Experience with VMware virtualization.
Security+ CE certification or ability to obtain within six months.
Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Some travel may be required (<10%).
Ability to lift 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

Participates in designing, developing, troubleshooting and analyzing software programs for new and existing systems.
Develops/modifies documentation of new or existing programs as required.
Conduct/support complex Level 1–3 testing to qualify systems for Range operations.
Provide feedback and status reports to management on each project.
Lead technical proposals and software maintenance release efforts including estimating, planning, and scheduling.
Support the efforts of all technical staff on assigned projects.
Additional duties as assigned.
