Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring a full-time Sous Chef in Mars Hill, NC. The candidate will lead the kitchen team, prepare dishes according to recipes, and ensure timely production while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

Required: 5 years of culinary experience and 2 years of managerial experience preferred. Schedule: full-time, Monday–Friday with possible weekends. Pay range: $19–$23 per hour.

Qualifications

• 5 years of prior culinary experience required, 2 years of managerial experience preferred.
• Must be able to supervise and coordinate kitchen staff.
• Ability to follow recipes and production standards.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service staff, including training and scheduling.
• Maintains sanitation and proper food handling in line with safety procedures.
• Monitors inventory and communicates supply needs to supervisor.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
