Job summary

Greek House Chefs is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Assistant to support the executive chef in daily kitchen operations at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. You will help prepare, season, and cook dishes, manage inventory, and ensure quality and freshness of meals during service hours.

Ideal candidates will have 2 years of relevant experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work calmly under pressure.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or training required.
• 2 years of relevant kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains kitchen cleanliness and meets health standards.
• Leads kitchen team in the chef's absence.
• Oversees stock and ingredients; ensures FIFO rotation and proper dating.
• Assists with supervision of all food preparation and presentation to meet standards.
• Supports in training staff and coordinating with vendors and clients.
