Job summary

BCD Meetings & Events is seeking a Senior Sourcing Manager to be fully dedicated to a Life Science client, handling site sourcing, vendor contracts, and cost savings. You will work with the client contact to prepare initial hotel/venue budgets and lead sourcing for complex events and congresses worldwide.

You will train new team members, back up junior staff, and collaborate with Operations Leadership to improve service levels. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in industry contract negotiations and consultation, especially business and legal terms.
• Experience on Life Sciences clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• German and English language proficient in both oral and written communications.
• Experience in preparation of high-level venue power point decks.
• Adept at organization and time management.
• Up to 25% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Meeting and Congress Sourcing Strategy for the team, balancing engagement of client and partner vendors for national and international events.
• Negotiate all supplier contracts for best prices, concessions and commissions while maintaining quality and integrity.
• Communicate cancellation penalties opportunities to mitigate attrition with Operations Manager and client.
• Consult with Operations Leadership and client during research of venues to meet requirements.
• Review requests and participate in kickoff calls for sourcing; initiate sourcing for complex events and congresses with internal tools.
• Train new team members and provide backup coverage; provide feedback to leadership to improve service levels.
